Boomerang is the largest multi- sensory centre in the North of England. It has been specifically designed to cater for disabled children and their needs. It has been designed in detail to ensure all children with any disability can access Boomerang and enjoy a stimulating sensory environment that caters for their needs.
There are three main sensory /therapy rooms available:
Sensory Room
The sensory room is an area to relax in a calming non threatening environment. It has a vibro bed, infinity panel, bubble tube, fibre optic curtain, ball pool and projector lighting, all this equipment is used for various therapy sessions and sensory integration. The room has a padded floor and walls. Hoists allow full access to the room for wheelchair users. This room is great for those with visual and hearing impairment, complex health needs, severe learning difficulties and children with challenging behaviour to calm them and help them relax.
The interactive suite
The equipment in the interactive suite allows the room to be multi-functional, and be used for various activities from a calm environment to a more interactive environment which will encourage the use of the main senses as well as fine gross motor skills and allows the room to become an interesting learning environment. Projectors allow children to interact with various programmes, games, musical instruments using their hands, feet, and any part of their body which is a fantastic learning tool for children with limited movement, hearing impairment, vision loss, and children with learning disabilities. This room has a hoist to allow children full access to the equipment.
Large Multi Sensory Room
This room has a large safe play area containing slides, specialist infinity hut, interactive equipment, projected lighting, tunnels, trampolines and specialist equipment, the floor and walls are padded for comfort and safety. This room is used by children with various disabilities and has hoists to allow wheelchair access to the area. This room helps to develop skills including cause and effect, colour and number recognition and also to develop fine/gross motor skills, ideal for children with weak muscle tone.
The centre uses PECS (picture exchange communication) to allow non verbal children to communicate their needs and understand their environment.
The bathroom facilities have a hoist and hydraulic changing bed.
There is no other place like this................................... Boomerang offers children with special needs and their families in the North West a place to go and have fun and relax in a safe stimulating environment.

Is there any cost to our cause or supporters?
No, it's completely free for your cause and supporters. The only cost is to the retailer.
Why do the retailers make a donation?
When you visit a retailer or service through goraise.co.uk they offer a donation as a thank you for your custom. Our partner retailers like to help, but it's also a way of attracting customers, so they essentially put it down as a marketing cost.
Sounds too good to be true – is there a catch?
There’s no catch, and to confirm, it won't cost you a penny!! In fact, there’s £millions worth of retailer commission available every year to fund good causes across the UK. Amazingly, many causes are still unaware of this easy, free way to generate funds through everyday online shopping.
How much of the donation does GoRaise take?
We don’t take a penny of the amount displayed. For all retailers we show a donation rate (% or £), which represents the full amount you are raising for your cause. For clarity, GoRaise is a commercial organisation, and we receive an additional payment from the retailer above and beyond that shown on the site.
Can any cause use GoRaise to fundraise?
Yes – any good cause (an organisation with unselfish goals) can use GoRaise to generate funds, from small community groups to national charities. Your favourite cause may already be registered. If it isn’t, it can be added for free. GoRaise helps charities, sports clubs, PTAs, community groups, churches, youth groups (Girl Guides, Scouts etc) and lots of other great causes.
How do we get paid?
You can choose to receive your money into a bank account or direct donation platform. We pay our causes every quarter and challengers monthly. We'll let you know once the payment has been sent. Please note: causes have to have at least £15 (and Challengers £2) in their account before we make payment
